Where it all started...
* Charlie grew up in a small house in a
small town in a small state - Mississippi. He was the first generation in
his family to have indoor home plumbing.
* Charlie
was one of the first in his family to
do post-high school studies. After college, he taught high school English, a
second language in Mississippi, and on the side, coached the cross-country
team to meet single moms.
*
In 1999, Charlie joined the Navy to see
the world and somehow got stuck on a ship during the middle of 9/11 and
Operation Enduring Freedom. The recruiter told him his job was going to be a
Naval Business Officer but his primary focus ended up being Snack Food
Logistics or running the “7-11 Store” onboard the ship.
*
Currently, Charlie lives in Chicago and
works by day at O'Hare in budgets and manpower planning for the airport. And
since his degree is actually in English (from Mississippi), that pretty much
explains the chaos at O'Hare.
Charlie's Big Gigs
*
Charlie has
featured at Zanies in Chicago where he has opened for Emo Philips, Patti
Vasquez, Shay Shay, and Tim Clue.
* Additionally, Charlie appeared on
television for Fox’s “Good Day Chicago" to promote the Recession Proof Comedy
Show for Zanies April Fools Day.
* In 2009, Charlie participated in the
Soldiers of Comedy Tour where he performed for the troops at Beale and Malmstrom
Air Force Bases.
Charlie's Style of Comedy
He's from
the South and has some family issues to share with y’all.
Charlie is a former Naval Officer so he's got some sea
stories that will make you laugh about the country’s finest
troops. His style is mostly self-deprecating, but he’s
trying to do better.
Charlie
has some failures in his own life that he won't mind
revealing to you onstage that range from failing often on
the dating scene to unsuccessfully caring for a cat.
He is tall (well, not short) in stature, dark hair, hazel eyes, and well-groomed. Some,
but not all, women find him mildly attractive or sometimes repulsive depending on their alcohol consumption at that moment in time.
Charlie has a
mixture of Improv and Stand-up training so he will do some
characters on stage (most notably his Southern dad) and
possibly will do a little Midwest Geisha girl. Most people
think Charlie is serious/quiet guy and are really confused
when they hear that he does stand-up comedy (especially a
Geisha girl?).
